Meaning of Anterior

Anterior is an anatomical direction term used in medical, anatomy, and kinesiology studies to refer to where parts of the body are located. Anterior, in reference to the anatomical position, means the front of the body, or in front of another structure of the body.

Examples:

The pectoralis major is anterior to the scapula.
