Ptylin is an enzyme that come from the saliva, and breaks down starch into maltose.
Amylase from the pancreas (?2nd word?) then hydrolyzes the maltose into glucose.
Maybe the 2nd and 3rd words should be "pancreatic secretions". Or "exocrine pancreas". Or "acinar cells". If I make enough guesses, I'm bound to come close eventually.

Amylase is an enzyme that comes from the Pancreas & Salivary Glands and breaks down starch into sugars (polysaccharides to Di - saccharides & Tri - Saccharides).
Maltase from the Small Intestine then hydrolyzes maltose (disaccharide) into glucose. [1 Unit of Maltose upon hydrolysis yields two glucose molecules].
