Where to begin. Let me try and set the stage. One year ago around April 2008 according to my notebook I weighed in at 277lbs I am 6'5" tall. My max deadlift was 225, I was squatting 245, and benching 225. I wont spoil anything but it is clear that I have come a long way since then. My goals are to get stronger while cutting some weight and adjusting my push to pull ratio. Since April of 2008 I have already lost 30lbs. I have taken a far more active interest in researching strength and conditioning as well as mobility. Things I'm sorry to say I never used to think about. I used to be just another guy doing bicep curls and bench press with an extreme aversion to anything resembling a squat or deadlift. I definitely thank Joe for getting me interested and helping me along the way. If it weren't for his help and guidance I would still be 277lbs with a casual interest in bicep curling and bench press. ;)
I've been working with the same program as Joe so my journal will look pretty similar to his. Anyway I'll just start with today.

For some reason the second rep with 255 took a lot out of me so I decided to switch to singles. I'm pretty glad I did I had not attempted anything greater than 255 before today. This merited a thunderous high five with Joe.
