I agree.
You know it's funny how our weak links change. That's as it should be, of course..
For so long when I still had the bodybuilding affliction (send hate-mail to Kane) my core was my weak link on most squatting and pulling activities. Despite of the BS about how the only core exercises you need are squats and deadlifts. Once I really dedicated myself to "REAL" core training suddenly I found my leg strength in question during squats. This actually reminds me of an article I'm contemplating but I digress…
Anyway, I had been doing single leg stuff for years but it was getting to those full range pistols and then bringing them up that really cured that weak link. Beside the pure leg strength it brings to the table I think it is simply the stability and control it teaches that seals the deal. I've been training for a LONG time, but I could feel the difference in the hips locking in and the knees therefore being able to power up out of wholes that would have before resulted in knees in, legs buckling. When you can feel a change like that after such a long time in the game, that is a good feeling.
All these macho simpletons that want to say you don't "need" this or that, sooner or later, they will jump on the wagon of this or that. But instead of being like me or you and saying, here is a tool, they will be bowing down in front of the alter of "this or that" and saying things like "you can't do too much" and "this is all you need to do" lol.
