So I also want to use this journal as a platform to float some of my ideas which may or may not be absurd.
This is idea #1:
I have come to realize that I need to bring up my upper body if I want to continue to improve my squat and deadlift. Because of my stubbornness to never work on my upper body with much enthusiasm I have created an imbalance. If I have 26-27 inch thighs and 14 inch arms then something is wrong.
I remember when I tried to max out on deadlifts with 405 after EC's program Max Strength that when the bar reached my knees my chest just collapsed. Well, I will be working a bit more to build my upper body into a thick shell next mesocycle. I am already trying to pay attention to it like how I did yesterday.
This doesn't mean that I want to become a beach-boy…no way. But, I do not want my lack of upper body strength or size to limit me in pursuing a bigger deadlift and squat.
My next mesocycle (this is a sneak preview) involves Anderson Squats, Good Mornings and guess what??? The Flat Bench Press!!! hahaha….yeah, I am getting back to the flat bench press for a short while.
