I, Bodybuilder

I am sometimes late to things like this because, frankly, I don't have time to keep up with the newest bodybuilding crap on the web. But this takes the cake. I thought it was a joke at first.

Radical Strategy for Radical Hypertrophy

It sounds exactly like one of the exaggerated supplement ads we make up at GUS as a parody. And by this time I'm sure people at the bodybuilding sites are just peeing themselves with glee over it ready to fork over their 80 dollars for, I guess, about a two-week supply.

Boy, does T-Rag know how to market supplements! You know I just noticed that Christian Thibadeau's books were showing up in the GUS store and I took them down. Right on time. I'm not a fan.

I CANNOT be a part of the problem. I have been willing to turn the other cheek for a long time because there is a lot of good information to be had at Biotest central, despite the censorship and blatant supplement pimping by people who SHOULD KNOW BETTER. But money talks.

Well I don't do this for money and I'd rather GUS fail than be a part of the problem. So, from hence forth there will no longer be any outgoing links to T-Nation or any associated sites from GUS. That means there can not be any articles republished here that require those outgoing links.

I will not take down the articles that are already up. There are only two (great) articles by Mike Robertson and it would be blantantly disrespectful to take them down as part of my mission to ban T-Nation links from GUS. But there will be no others.

Someone said in a blog comment that we, the fitness industry must police this, but HOW? Well, I'm standing up and saying NO. There are plenty of great men and women out there, bright and willing. We can muddle through without T-Nation.

I can't stop people from falling for the snake oil marketing. But I don't have to help lead them to it. People can be downright desperate to gain muscle or improve their bodies. They can be easy prey. I refuse to assist.

My actions may appear self-righteous. I cannot help that. We cannot do what we think is right without sometimes appearing self-righteous. And this is not an impulsive decision. This has been brewing for a long time.

Speaking of snake-oil the supplement is called Anaconda. Maybe it is a joke after all. But I doubt it. And here I didn't think that T-Nation could possibly get a more closet homosexual vibe. Better get some bikini shots up. Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea…what with all the snake imagery.
