Sarah Davis, of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) created this series of videos on how to read food labels that I thought would be a great addition to our information on food labels here at GUS. These videos cover the major points that I covered in How to Read Food Labels but of course are not as in-depth as the written information in that article so I suggest of course watching the videos and using the article for a more complete reference.
This first video covers the Nutrition Facts Panel portion of the food label.

Sarah Davis, MS, RD, is a Staff Scientist with the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) in Washington, D.C. She holds a B.S. degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise with concentrations in Consumer Foods and Dietetics, and a Masters degree in Foods from Virginia Tech. She completed a year-long dietetic internship with the Medical College of Virginia in 2002, and is a registered dietitian. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, and is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists and the American Dietetic Association.
